Rochford District Council is reminding voters in the district that they can now apply to vote by post in the local elections on May 6.
Elections for Essex County Council, the County's Police and Crime Commissioner, District and Parish / Town Council elections are planned to be held on that day.
Although things may change, the Council is urging voters to think ahead. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic voters are encouraged to think about voting by post and to get organised by registering for a postal vote early especially if they are clinically extremely vulnerable or are otherwise at high risk.
Rochford District Council’s Returning Officer, Ms Angela Hutchings said: "Although we are working hard to ensure that all of our polling stations will be COVID SECURE, applying for a postal vote is an effective way for our local electors to still have their say whilst staying safe".
To apply for a postal vote email email@example.com, call 01702 318187 or download a form from www.rochford.gov.uk
At present the council is unable to accept digitally signed applications but you may scan your form after you have signed it.
